ZAKA

ZAKA, an organization founded in 1989 by ultra-orthodox Jews, sees its mission as making sure people who die in accidents and emergency situations are given a proper religious burial. The organization’s Minorities Unit is made up of Circassians, Christians, Muslims, Druze, and Bedouins, who are trained and equipped to deal properly with the deceased according to their respective burial laws and customs.
