From Military to Medical—Former Intelligence Experts Develop Al-Based Tool for Radiologists
Aidoc, an Israeli artificial intelligence company, uses machine learning to scan transmitted medical images following a patient examination and alerts the radiologist of cases that require immediate attention. The company’s founders are veterans of the Israeli Army’s top artificial intelligence technology unit, and used their experience with the groundbreaking technology to develop the deep learning algorithms needed to help radiologists pick up medical abnormalities quickly and efficiently. Their technology has been well received by many top U.S. hospitals and medical centers. Another software that was developed by Aidoc to identify acute intracranial hemorrhage (ICH), pulmonary embolisms, and C-spine fracture cases recently received FDA clearance. These advancements are what led to Aidoc being recognized as one of the 2018 “50 Genius Companies” by Time Magazine.
